15 Random Things

I was reading a friend from high school's blog and thought this would be fun. Let's see if I can think of 15 random things about myself, it's easier said than done.

1. I don't like mushy foods like peas, and lima beans.

2.I don't really like cooking all the time I'd rather let Nick do it.

3. My house isn't the cleanest on the block, I prefer the lived in look.

4. I am the worst when it comes to putting away laundry. I'll wash, dry and fold it and instead of putting it away right away I'll stick it on my bed or on the back of the couch for a couple of days.

5. I hate doing dishes by hand, I really want a dishwasher and the kids are too young to really help out a lot with that chore.

6.I don't wear high heel shoes because I'm already taller than my husband and don't want to be any taller than my 7 inches.

7. I am not a very creative person. I have great respect for all those out there that make scrapbooking look so easy. Most of my pictures are in a drawer waiting to be put in albums and on the computer. It's so much easier to put them on the computer than to go to Wal-Mart and develop them.

8. We just bought our first home in Sept. 07 and are finding a lot of things that need to be redone that we didn't know when we bought the house. The floors need to be redone, it's not very well insulated and the hot water heater is rigged with some sort of switch underneath the house. We have one of those short ones. So if you do laundry better do it when you don't have to use the hot water or cold, because it's going to take it all.

9.My favorite color is purple and dark blue. I've always loved purple ever since I learned that it is the color of royalty. After all I am a princess, my Father is the King!!

10. I love cats. I think they are much more entertaining than dogs.

11. I wish I could have gone to my 10 year high school reunion in 2007, but was unable to make it because I live in Arkansas and didn't hear of it in time. Are we planning a 15, Chelsea? I'll start making plans now to come.

12. I may be related to Laura Ingalls Wilder. My niece went to her home in Missouri and found the name Brentlinger in the family graveyard.

13. I love to read but don't get too very often anymore being a wife and mom. I have to remind myself that I need time for me, too.

14. I am assistant director to Angel Food at our church, youth leader, nursery worker. Angel Food has allowed me to meet people in our community and reach out them. You buy a whole bunch of food for $30 which would cost close to $60+ at the grocery store.

15. Last but not least, I am happy with my life. I made some bad decsions as a young woman but I got 2 beautiful kids out of those and looking back I can see how God worked to bring me to where I am today.

So sorry!!

I'm so sorry that I haven't posted since August and I really don't have any really good excuse. Let's see what has happened. We had a really good Thanksgiving at home just the four of us. All my family had other plans so we got together that weekend and ate all the leftovers. Christmas was good, the kids had a really good christmas. The monday before the kids got out for christmas break we had freezing rain and they got out early. They went back to school on Friday and then didn't go back until Jan. 2!

They had a great time sledding down our street. I'll post some pictures and try to post some video. I quit my job and went to work for a different home health agency and really enjoy it. My hours are more flexible and the stress level is non-existent.

Aliyah joined Girl Scouts and is selling cookies. Her goal is to sell 20 boxes and she has 14 sold! You go Girl!!

Henry is on medication for ADHD and it has helped tremendously. He went from a C+ to an A+ in spelling from the first 9 wks to the 2nd 9 wks. He is struggling a little in math he went from a B+ to a B-. I don't remember doing fractions in first grade. They're simple like which pizza shows 1 fourth? He is doing simple algebra so I guess next year will be multiplication. His behavior on the bus has improved also. He acutually got kicked off for 10 days in Nov. for not listening to the bus driver, not sitting in his seat and yelling. No more complaints since he has been on meds. He does have his days, though after all he's only 7.
He turned 7 Jan. 17 and we had a small party for him. Aliyah will be 6 on sunday.

Can't upload any pictures because I can't figure out how to get them from the kodack easy share folder to here so if anyone wants to see them email me and I will send them to you.
