God is Good!

Nick is going to have his knee surgery on Wed. April 8 and the bill will be paid by MASH ( I forget what it stands for). It is an out patient procedure, but will have to knock him out for it. Today is spring picture day at school, I hope Aliyah and Henry smile!

I got a new cell phone and have been playing with it. Mommy's new toy! We also found out that Nick's back problems may be from a herniated disc. I don't know what that will involve. Just a quick update for anyone who actually reads this.

Trusting

It is so hard to trust the Lord sometimes. Nick is needing surgery on his left knee and we actually have it schedueled for next wed, april 8, the money for the surgery is another story. We have applied for MASH through the hospital and it should go through. Nick's knee is a constant pain for him and the only way it can be fixed is by surgery. He has a torn miniscus (i think i spelled that right).

He has an MRI today for his lower back. It's times like this, that it's hard to trust in the Lord, I know he has everything under control, but when you have bills staring you down and only 1 person able to work. I have to wonder what God is up to. Please keep us in your prayers!

Facebook

I finally did it. I joined facebook. I can't upload any pictures because my computer got a virus and everytime I try to get on the internet, it blocks it. So since I can't afford to get it fixed, I am paying for internet I can't use! If I cancel b4 my 2 yr. agreement is up, I have to pay 200 bucks. So I am waiting on my sister to find an old cpu so that I can at least have internet access at home.

I am at my sisters house and Aliyah just asked my 16 yr. old niece Amber, why her room is so dirty! Amber said she doesn't have time to clean it, with school and cheerleading practice, she is trying out next friday for the highland rebels. GO REBELS!!

So if you look at older posts I do have some pictures on here of my kids. ENJOY!!

Parenting is so

hard, rewarding, and frustrating all at the same time. We have been having so many problems with Henry. He has just been kicked off the bus for 2 weeks for yelling, arguing, and not listening to the bus driver. This is the second time he has been kicked off this school year, and if he gets kicked off again it will be for the rest of the year. He says that he wants to be bad, and I know that's not true!!

His heart is so big, he is so loving! It hurts my heart so much to see him cry when he gets in trouble! I just want to take him in my arms and make everything ok, but on the other hand I don't want him to think that I don't mean what I say. He is grounded for a month and will have extra chores around the house, and will not be able to play baseball. I was so looking forward to letting him play and going to his games. He now has a friend from school calling him and I would love to be able to let them play together, but it just seems that we take 2 steps forward and 5 steps backwards.

I'm going to have to step up the praying over him.

sledding and other news

Here is one of the promised pictures from our ice storm. This is the kids' first time sledding. They loved it!! We are now having 70 degree weather and severe thunderstorms. The tornadoes need to stay away!! We just passed the one year mark from the feb 5 2008.
This is the best pic I have of them they went by too fast to get a better one.
Aliyah turned 6 on the 25th of Jan. and Henry turned 7 on the 17th of Jan. My they grow up so fast!! It's hard to think back to when they were babies. Aliyah is loving Girl Scouts. She got into her first fight and did well, but of course I couldn't tell her that. A little girl in her troop kicked her so she fought back.

15 Random Things

I was reading a friend from high school's blog and thought this would be fun. Let's see if I can think of 15 random things about myself, it's easier said than done.

1. I don't like mushy foods like peas, and lima beans.

2.I don't really like cooking all the time I'd rather let Nick do it.

3. My house isn't the cleanest on the block, I prefer the lived in look.

4. I am the worst when it comes to putting away laundry. I'll wash, dry and fold it and instead of putting it away right away I'll stick it on my bed or on the back of the couch for a couple of days.

5. I hate doing dishes by hand, I really want a dishwasher and the kids are too young to really help out a lot with that chore.

6.I don't wear high heel shoes because I'm already taller than my husband and don't want to be any taller than my 7 inches.

7. I am not a very creative person. I have great respect for all those out there that make scrapbooking look so easy. Most of my pictures are in a drawer waiting to be put in albums and on the computer. It's so much easier to put them on the computer than to go to Wal-Mart and develop them.

8. We just bought our first home in Sept. 07 and are finding a lot of things that need to be redone that we didn't know when we bought the house. The floors need to be redone, it's not very well insulated and the hot water heater is rigged with some sort of switch underneath the house. We have one of those short ones. So if you do laundry better do it when you don't have to use the hot water or cold, because it's going to take it all.

9.My favorite color is purple and dark blue. I've always loved purple ever since I learned that it is the color of royalty. After all I am a princess, my Father is the King!!

10. I love cats. I think they are much more entertaining than dogs.

11. I wish I could have gone to my 10 year high school reunion in 2007, but was unable to make it because I live in Arkansas and didn't hear of it in time. Are we planning a 15, Chelsea? I'll start making plans now to come.

12. I may be related to Laura Ingalls Wilder. My niece went to her home in Missouri and found the name Brentlinger in the family graveyard.

13. I love to read but don't get too very often anymore being a wife and mom. I have to remind myself that I need time for me, too.

14. I am assistant director to Angel Food at our church, youth leader, nursery worker. Angel Food has allowed me to meet people in our community and reach out them. You buy a whole bunch of food for $30 which would cost close to $60+ at the grocery store.

15. Last but not least, I am happy with my life. I made some bad decsions as a young woman but I got 2 beautiful kids out of those and looking back I can see how God worked to bring me to where I am today.

So sorry!!

I'm so sorry that I haven't posted since August and I really don't have any really good excuse. Let's see what has happened. We had a really good Thanksgiving at home just the four of us. All my family had other plans so we got together that weekend and ate all the leftovers. Christmas was good, the kids had a really good christmas. The monday before the kids got out for christmas break we had freezing rain and they got out early. They went back to school on Friday and then didn't go back until Jan. 2!

They had a great time sledding down our street. I'll post some pictures and try to post some video. I quit my job and went to work for a different home health agency and really enjoy it. My hours are more flexible and the stress level is non-existent.

Aliyah joined Girl Scouts and is selling cookies. Her goal is to sell 20 boxes and she has 14 sold! You go Girl!!

Henry is on medication for ADHD and it has helped tremendously. He went from a C+ to an A+ in spelling from the first 9 wks to the 2nd 9 wks. He is struggling a little in math he went from a B+ to a B-. I don't remember doing fractions in first grade. They're simple like which pizza shows 1 fourth? He is doing simple algebra so I guess next year will be multiplication. His behavior on the bus has improved also. He acutually got kicked off for 10 days in Nov. for not listening to the bus driver, not sitting in his seat and yelling. No more complaints since he has been on meds. He does have his days, though after all he's only 7.
He turned 7 Jan. 17 and we had a small party for him. Aliyah will be 6 on sunday.

Can't upload any pictures because I can't figure out how to get them from the kodack easy share folder to here so if anyone wants to see them email me and I will send them to you.
